Somerset County Council (SCC) is seeking interest from organisations that would like to provide a Direct Payment and Personal Health Budget Advice and Support Service in Somerset. The key activities as part of this service will include providing information visits, setting up a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget, helping with recruitment of Personal Assistants, providing ongoing support to DP/PHB recipients, managing the payroll for people who employ their own Personal Assistant and managed accounts. This will be a joint contract with the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group. SCC as lead commissioner is now running a procurement process in order to have a new service in place by 1.4.2016.
