Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a Provider(s) to deliver ‘Personalised Travel Planning’ (PTP) to effect positive behaviour change towards more sustainable modes of travel in Cheltenham. Delivery of a PTP intervention is a key component of the Council’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) Bid. The Council’s LSTF Bid Programme is called “Cheltenham and Gloucester Sustainable Travel Programme” (the “Programme”). The purpose of the Invitation to Tender is to inform appropriate service providers about Gloucestershire County Council’s requirements for the Programme regarding delivery of PTP services.
The Programme will facilitate economic regeneration in Cheltenham and Gloucester and reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions by:
— Reducing traffic in the urban centres,
— Increase walking, cycling and public transport use,
— Stimulating town centre retail activity, and,
— Support major regeneration schemes.
Transport needs will be managed with a package of smarter choices measures, (including personalised travel planning, business and school travel planning, walk and cycle promotion), delivered prior to April 2015.
