Description of the contract

Essex and Kent Police Authority, under this contract is seeking a Contractor who will provide Pest control and related services.. The contract shall cover a period of 7 years with effect from 1st April 2013, based upon an initial term of 4 years and then subject to satisfactory performance, three subsequent extensions to the contract awarded each one year in length. The Kent and Essex Joint Procurement Service operates a ‘‘Collaborative Procurement’ where two or more contracting bodies (i.e. Kent and Essex Police Authorities) combine their individual needs into one larger public sector requirement. In this particular contract, Procurement Services will solely be acting on behalf of Essex Police Authority. Requirements The Contractor is required to provide responsive and preventative Pest Control Services for all Essex and Kent Police Properties. Service shall include prevention, protection, removal or elimination of the following known list of pests although the list is not exhaustive: • Fleas, Ticks • Mice, Rats • Bees, Wasps, Hornets • Beetles • Flies • Pigeons and Birds • Squirrels • Foxes • Rabbits • Any other Insects or Vermin Preventative Services are to be in accordance with the task sheets and at frequencies specified for Essex Police Affected Properties. Reactive Service are require on a 24/7 365 days a year basis and on occasions services may be required within a two or four hour time period. Essex Police are responsible for properties throughout their Police District. In addition to the large Headquarters campus style site in Chelmsford, Essex Police have a mixture of large Divisional Headquarters at Chelmsford, Harlow, Grays, Colchester, Southend and Rayleigh, Police Stations such as those at Braintree, Halstead and Great Dunmow and a number of smaller village Stations.
