Description of the contract

Transport Direct already uses Points of Interest data for the whole of Great Britain, using data provided under contract from a supplier. This contract is due for retender, hence this current procurement invitation. The data is used both to support the Transport Direct Facilities/Attractions gazetteer to allow users to start and/or end their journey at a Point of Interest, as well as to show the location of facilities and attractions on a map. We are therefore looking for a data provider who can provide the appropriate data in a format described in the Interface Specification document (Appendix E), to ensure TD can continue to offer this information seamlessly and with no interruption to current service.

To participate in any possible future procurement which results from this RFI, Potential Providers must first be registered on the Government Procurement Service e-Sourcing Suite. If you have not yet registered on the eSourcing Suite, this can be done online at https://gpsesourcing.cabinetoffice.gov.uk by following the link ‘Register for GPS eSourcing’. Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a contract if invited to do so at the Invitation to Tender stage. Full instructions for registration and use of the system can be found at http://gps.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/i-am-supplier/respond-tender Once you have registered on the eSourcing Suite, you will need to express and interest for the Mutual Support Programme – Kent, Surrey and Sussex Probation Contract. This is done by emailing ExpressionOfInterest@gps.gsi.gov.uk. Your email must clearly state: • the name of this procurement Points of Interest Data and the RM reference number RM1359 SB135 • the name of the registered supplier; and • the name and contact details for the registered individual sending the email. Government Procurement Service will then process this email and assign your organisation to the opportunity. The registered user will receive a notification email to alert them once this has been done. The Invitation to Tender will be issued by close of play on Thursday 25th April 2013 and therefore suppliers can register on the e-Sourcing Suite between the issue date of this Contracts Finder advert and the deadline date.
