Portland Leisure Centre Contract

Portland Leisure Centre Contract

Nottingham City Council.

Awarding body Nottingham City Council

Est. Start Date: 03/09/2012
Est. End Date: 26/03/2012

Nottingham City Council is seeking Registrations of Interest from organisations including voluntary sector organisations (which may include consortia arrangements) in respect of a proposed asset transfer of Portland Leisure Centre.

Nottingham City Council’s objectives for the transfer are:

1. To ensure the long term sustainability of sport and leisure provision from the Portland Leisure Centre building with continued community access.
2. To release the Council from any further financing or subsidy of the leisure facilities, through asset transfer on a long term, full repair and insurance, lease basis.
Whilst Nottingham City Council is under extreme financial pressure, with major cuts in National Government funding, and increasing pressures in adult and children’s care, councillors are committed to ensuring services continue where possible and to find innovative ways to meet local needs. By working with the local community and businesses we aim to maintain a local leisure offer from Portland Leisure Centre while meeting budget targets, by allowing groups and companies the freedom to tell us how they would use the asset to provide services and lever in investment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organisation to work within a community setting to help improve and sustain a sport and leisure provision.
