The ground investigation itself is to provide geotechnical information to inform the development of the Specimen Design and subsequently to aid participants during the main Construction Tendering process for the A90/ A96 Haudagain Improvement Contract. The Ground Investigation Contract includes a Novation Clause.
The successful candidates shall be required to undertake laboratory testing including soil and rock tests for classification, re-use properties, strength, consolidation, effective and total stress, chemical, contamination and waste. The contract includes for the preparation of a factual report and an accompanying digital data report for the ground investigation.
The contracts for the services will include the following activities:- (a) construction of all necessary works listed above (b) appropriate laboratory testing (c) full reports enabling a detailed knowledge of the ground conditions along the preferred route.
The intention is that the services are implemented by Infrastructure Conditions of Contract, Ground Investigation Version August 2011, including amendments dated October 2011. Specifications will include the standard documents used by the Scottish Ministers (Transport Scotland) for Ground Investigation contracts in Scotland.

To receive the Prospectus and PQQ (‘Pre-qualification Document’) (SC Ref: TS/MTRIPS/WKS/2014/04 expressions of interest require to be submitted by interested parties by 12:00 BST on 6.6.2014 through the Public Contracts Scotland Website or by submitting an email toclaire.caley@jacobs.com. Selected Candidates may be invited for a clarification interview with the Contract Authority’s assessment panel at a date to be advised after submission of the Prospectus and Questionnaire. Expression of interest made after 12:00 BST on 6.6.2014 shall not receive the Pre-qualification Document and shall not be permitted to submit a completed PQQ.
