The Contracting Authority wishes to award a contract to a sole contractor for a frozen prepared meals service from 1.6.2012 for a period of up to 4 years.
The contract will comprise of the supply and delivery of frozen meals, equipment for storage and regeneration to individuals’ homes in the administrative area of Shropshire Council.
Following the receipt of referrals from the Council the contractor will supply and deliver frozen meals directly to individual service user’s homes. The service includes the provision of equipment to regenerate and store these frozen meals. The service is not just a delivery service but requires that the contractor’s staff deliver meals, pack meals away, rotate stock and if required install and maintain equipment for the use of regeneration or storage of frozen meals in the service user’s home.

The contracting authority reserves the right not to award a contract or to award any option(s) it so wishes. Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Shropshire Council will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Applicants have 2 working days from the notification of the award decision to request additional debriefing and that information has to be provided a minimum of 3 working days before the expiry of the standstill period. Such additional information should be requested from the contact in Section 1.1. If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (S1 2006 No 5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England and Wales).
