The project as a whole involves the design and construction of a new Area School on a site that is to be procured by the Authority during 2013/14 with advance funding of GBP 1.28 m from the Welsh Government plus match funding from the Authority. The project involves the amalgamation of two existing primary schools, Ysgol Maelgwyn and Ysgol Nant Y Coed into a new Area Primary School on the Esgyryn site. The two existing schools will remain in operation until such time as the new school is ready for occupation.
This contract is in respect of the Multi Disciplinary design team which will be required for the duration of the project.
The scope of services forms two parts, those surveys and investigations required for planning submission purposes and design development of the scheme to RIBA Work Stage 2013 – 3 Developed Design (2007 Work Stage D).
The Authority may instruct further design development beyond Work Stage 3 but the current proposal is that this would not recommence until February 2014 following receipt of planning permission and the conclusion of the land acquisition by the Authority’s Estates team.
The scope of services required for planning submission purposes is likely to involve the following but the Consultant should determine what is required in accordance with Welsh Government Planning Policy and Technical Advice Notes.
