Prime Minister Boris Johnson Has Caught the Coronavirus

It is not known how the Prime Minister caught the virus, but having been tested on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer for England, Chris Whitty, he has been diagnosed as infected with Coronavirus COVID-19. He is now self-isolating in Downing Street, and it is believed he has only experienced mild symptoms.  The full statement from the Prime Minister’s Office is further below.

A statement from Downing Street.

After experiencing mild symptoms yesterday, the Prime Minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty.

The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive.

In keeping with the guidance, the Prime Minister is self-isolating in Downing Street.

He is continuing to lead the government’s response to coronavirus.
