Detailed Description: Harvey’s Foundry Trust is seeking the information in this PQQ.
This PQQ is seeking to appoint a principal contractor, through a two-stage tender, with pre-contract design and value engineering phase commencing August 2013, and main contract commencing on 1st January 2014 for a period of 12 months. The value of this contract is between £2 million and £3 million.Responses to the PQQ will be used as the first step of a two stage selection process. They will be used to evaluate and determine which Applicants will be invited to tender and subsequently be issued with an ITT, on the basis of meeting minimum standards of technical, legal and professional standing.

Phase 3 is a project to repair and conserve two Grade II listed buildings (Plantation Stores and the Pattern Shop) linked by the site of a former building (Cart Shed) creating 1407 m² of high quality, viable, flexible office space (18 offices) creating 83 jobs.
A significant challenge is to complete the build within the funder’s timescale which means practical completion in December 2014, and final accounts and BREEAM rating by March 2015.

Phase 3 will deliver three BREEAM ‘Very good’ rated buildings and the client, project team and contractor will need to work together to achieve this.

Following this PQQ, there will be an ITT for a two-stage tender. The appointed contractor will be brought on board early in the process to work with the client and design team to assist with final development of tender documents and advise on value engineering. The appointed contractor will then be invited to submit a final contract sum.

  • the conservation area and the World Heritage Site. Client requirements: The Trust wishes to appoint a main contractor to deliver Phase 3. The Trust will be looking for a contractor with: •experience of refurbishing historic buildings and the use of traditional materials and construction skills
  • •the capacity to manage a contract of this size in the timescale
  • •experience of BREEAM requirements.
