Description of the contract
English Heritage is undertaking a major project to improve the setting of Stonehenge itself and to provide new facilities for visitors. Part of this will see a sensitively designed visitor centre being built about 1 mile away from the Stones. This building will act as a gateway to the world’s most famous pre-historic monument. The new Visitor Centre will house a new museum, grade exhibition examining the story of Stonehenge and providing visitors with an introduction to the site. Audio Visual displays will play a big part in the interpretation in this area. There are two separate packages that will augment visitor understanding of the story of Stonehenge. One, the People Films, are five looping short films of both original animation and newly filmed live action that will be associated with showcases in the new exhibition. The second is the Meaning display. Accessible through an exciting touchscreen interface 6 individual films will help visitors navigate the confusing yet interesting theories surrounding the significance and use of Stonehenge . These commissions will be both an intellectually vital and stunning part of the visitor journey through the World Heritage site. Please note that this is a contract to produce dynamic media. It is not a hardware contract. English Heritage are seeking contractor with considerable experience in producing engaging and exciting story telling media, for museums and heritage destinations, to deliver the Meaning and People films.
