Background Our Central Government Client is currently looking for a Programme Planner to work on a major change and transformation programme. This is an initial 6 month contract and you have the option to be based either in Central London or Leeds. This is an immediate requirement. This role would be suitable for someone capable of supervising planners/setting standards or someone with strong planning skills (good all rounders) with a PMO slant. Main Duties/ Responsibilities Our client has 5 Programme Planner positions available. The key skills required include excellent planning skills, risks and issues, you must be able to offer practical support, help with the HR and finance plans and also be able to support the other programmes. You must have excellent Excel experience and be able to produce high level graphical representation and detailed MS Project plans. You need to be able to look at the interdependencies, speak to people on the programme, take the necessary information and put this into a Programme Plan. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved • You will be required to maintain and progress chase Level 0 Roadmap and Level 1 plans on a weekly basis, providing progress reporting to the programme and main boards; support to programme teams in the compilation, maintenance and control of programme plans and controls • Development of PMO support systems within programme • Risk and issue registers Skills/ Experience Required • Experience in centralised and dispersed change portfolio environments, and coaching/mentoring non-project personnel. Public sector experience preferred. • Expert level MS Project, self-starting planning skills from concept through to monitoring delivery. Knowledge of EPM desirable. • Risk and issue management at programme level Formal Qualifications Required Expert level MS Project (or qualified by experience with MSP)
