Swindon Borough Council, Routes to Employment Team are looking to commission ‘Progression Pathways Projects’ to help young people move into sustainable employment and training.
We are looking for expressions of interest to run projects that will support and provide opportunities for NEET young people aged 17 to 18 and/or unemployed young people aged 19 to 25 with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The projects should be set up to create innovative programmes that will support young people into employment, apprenticeships, work based learning or enterprise / self – employment activities. They must have a strong focus on working with local employers and provide young people with meaningful training and experiences that will enable them to compete for local jobs. They should also work with local youth support services and local education providers to identify young people that are struggling to progress.
Projects should offer sustainable long term employment solutions for young people. There should be a strong focus on further learning and training in the workplace and the projects should promote the benefits of apprenticeships and jobs with training.
We will look for sustainable models of good practice and social enterprise ideas that can become self-funding will be welcomed
