Brocade DCX Services & SAN Fabric, inc Annual Support (Year 1).
Places for People have to date adopted an industry best practice approach with regards to hardware support inter- dependencies between the data storage platform and the fibre channel fabric, delivering data to core application host systems. Therefore, all submitted tenders must ensure that the Brocade Infrastructure and Support is provided via Hitachi Data Systems, thereby aligning SAN Fabric support to that of PfPs key storage platforms. This does not necessarily mean the support is required to be co-terminus with that for the servers, only that PfP has a prerequisite storage manufacturer and therefore purchase and support of the Brocade SAN Directors must be provided via HDS, thereby guaranteeing a supported certified stack for PfP that includes both storage arrays and storage SAN director switches.
As with on-going support services, it is essential that configuration and delivery around the Brocade DCX platform is delivered by accredited Hitachi Data Systems resource. This is to protect the integrity of interdependency between the data storage platform and the fibre channel fabric and is a definite prerequisite to validate and certify on-going support of the storage / fabric technology stack.
The existing platform that the Brocade DCX is to replace is currently fully supported by Hitachi Data Systems and the professional services migration exercise must be carried out within that existing support framework and any proposal for provision of delivery of services around the DCX platform must be supported by a Hitachi Data Systems validated and endorsed statement of work.
