West Yorkshire Police has identified a requirement to construct a tier 4 data centre and expand our current data suite capacity. This combination will provide secure and energy efficient data suite environments to support multiple IT systems and platforms.
— It is our intention to develop and adapt an existing building to provide an environment capable of supporting between 140 – 240 48U x 1200 deep cabinets. In addition the existing data suite at this site would need expanding from a 30 cabinet to a 65 cabinet installation,
— A further element will be the creation of a secondary data suite alongside the existing Suite at West Yorkshire Police’s main data centre. This will entail the design and installation of a 94 cabinet capacity data suite within the confinements of the existing building.
A designed, full environmental, fire suppression, UPS & generator backed power distribution to support the cabinet numbers listed above are amongst the basic requirements, with exact and detailed requirements being identified at ITT stage.
West Yorkshire Police would require the preferred supplier to present a “Turn Key Solution”.
Schedules have yet to be confirmed, but is anticipated the solution would take no longer than 24 weeks to deliver with commencement in September 2012 for completion by April 2013.
