Description of the contract

Southampton City Council invites expressions of interest for the provision of public health act funeral services in Southampton. The service will deliver provide a dignified cremation or burial service (as applicable) following the schedule provided in consultation with the Bereavement Services Officer at Bugle Street responsible for PHA Funerals. The contract will run for a period of three (3) years and may be extended to a maximum of seven (7) years at the sole discretion of the commissioners. A draft specification for the service giving more detailed information on what is required will be provided at, http://www.southampton.gov.uk/supplysouthampton shortly after the issue of this notice. Applicants will be required to apply via “Supply Southampton” website which can be accessed via, http://www.southampton.gov.uk/supplysouthampton where you can register your details and access documentation. All documentation including questionnaires must be completed and submitted by no later than the 07/11/2014 at 15:00. The Council undertakes to use reasonable endeavours to hold confidential any information provided in the proposal submitted, subject to the Council’s obligations under law, including the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If the applicant considers that any of the information submitted in the proposal should not be disclosed because of its sensitivity then this should be stated with the reason for considering it sensitive. The Council will then consider the sensitivity statement before replying to any request received under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
