Description of the contract

The council is seeking expressions of interest from potential contractors to undertake Phase 2 of the public realm improvement works in the town centre Following a competition contest run earlier, the Council proceeded with Phase 1 of the project. Funding has now been allocated to complete Phase 2 which will complete the high street as a whole, providing a quality shared space to increase the attractiveness of this area to shoppers, visitors and residents. The works, included in the Phase 2 scheme, is a continuation of Phase 1 and is predominantly a hard landscaping project with new granite paving and localised soft landscaping. The proposed works are constructed from high quality materials and a resulting high standard of workmanship will be required in the laying and finishing of the landscaping.
