Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future (ACSEF) is a joint public/ private sector body promoting the economic development of the area covered by Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils. Nestrans is the statutory Regional Transport Partnership for the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils areas.

ACSEF have developed an Economic Development Plan for the region. Part of this Plan is the development of a fully integrated transport strategy. Nestrans has a Regional Transport Strategy which is intended to deliver the fully integrated transport strategy identified in the ACSEF Plan.

The successful contractor will be expected to pro-actively manage the public relations of both ACSEF and Nestrans ensuring that the messages both bodies wish to get across are delivered in the most appropriate way to the appropriate audiences including the public, Councillors, MSP’s, MP’s, MEP’s, businesses and communities. It is intended that the messages from the bodies will be positively promoted to maximise understanding along with any reactive response that will be required. The successful contractor will also be expected to manage various events and exhibitions aimed at getting these messages across;attend monthly meetings of the ACSEF Management Team;maintain and update the ACSEF website;produce a quarterly e-zine publication for distribution through the ACSEF website and an annual e-zine for Nestrans.

The successful contractor will have to demonstrate an understanding of the political dynamic across the North East and across Scotland as well as experience and knowledge of the economy of the North East.
