The University of Surrey intends to expand its Faculty of Health and Medical Studies which will involve the construction of 3 new academic buildings on its manor park campus in Guildford. The buildings will contain bio-science laboratories (some to be Cat 3), lecture theatres, academic offices and ancillary accommodation. The total floor area of the 3 buildings will be around 9 000 sq. metres with a construction value around 18 000 000 GBP.
Construction is intended to commence towards the end of 2013 with completion of all the buildings by September 2015.
This particular requirement is for the provision of Quantity Surveyor(QS)/Employer’s Agent(EA) services. Further requirements will be advertised for Architects and M&E services in due course but the intention is that the appointed QS/EA will assist the University in the subsequent selection processes and therefore the appointed QS/EA will not be permitted to bid for the Architect/M&E services.
