Description of the contract

The requirement is for full specifications to be written in collaboration with DfT technical experts. Between 10 and 20 full specifications may be required. Outlines are expected to be available for most project ideas at the start of the contract. Approximately 1 day per full specification is anticipated. The work will consist of an initial two hour face to face meeting with the DfT Project Sponsors at DfT’s headquarters, Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 4DR who will confirm the research areas to be covered and share those outline specifications that are available. They will also arrange for short meetings (up to 30 minutes) with relevant technical experts in DfT to discuss each requirement in more detail. 5.2 It will be the responsibility of the successful supplier to turn these ideas and the outline specifications into draft specifications (see Annexes 1 and 2 for the templates to be used). 5.3 The draft specifications, once agreed by the DfT Project Sponsors will then be used to seek proposals (probably through the DfT Transport Related Technical Engineering and Research (T-TEAR) Framework) in order to place contracts for the specified research. This element of the process will not form part of this contract which is specifically limited to compiling the draft specifications.
