Description of the contract

Our Client has a contract requirement for an End to End Solution Design Consultant, based in London, for 11 months. The role is working on an ICT initiative. The programme will look at the current ICT supply model with the view of implementing a new ICT Operating Model, delivering improved and consistent service levels across its remit, greater flexibility and in turn delivering a reduction in operating costs. Main Duties/ Responsibilities The role is required to support the development of Level 2 Service Definitions and Descriptions (a detailed specification of service requirements) and the associated evaluation criteria. The post holder will work within the Service Design Workstream responsible for defining the service requirements needed to support the future Target Operating Model (TOM) for ICT. You will be required to contribute towards the end to end solution design and review / assure the outputs produced by the individual service towers in designing the services required in support of the T.O.M. The scope of the end to end solution will cover all supplier towers, and the clients internal capability required to deliver ICT services across their business and to other stakeholders. You will liaise, where necessary, with the ‘Retained Organisation’ workstream to ensure that proposals for the retained organisation and assurance function are agreed and consistent across all workstreams and provide advice and analysis of supplier proposals during the competitive dialogue phase of the programme. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved • Contribute towards the development of the end to end solution design, ensuring appropriate input from key stakeholders and programme workstreams; • Work with other members of the Service Design Team to ensure that the End to End solution is comprehensive and covers the full supplier and internal capability to deliver services to all stakeholders; • Demonstrate the completeness of the end to end design and in particular the Service Level Framework (for example, by scenario mapping of key service lines); • Ensures that any problems or issues raised in the course of capturing and agreeing the end to end service design requirements are appropriately recorded and resolved; • Provides appropriate status and monitoring reports to all key stakeholders; • Obtaining formal agreement from stakeholders; • Work with other members of the Service Design workstream in determining the design approach, scheduling and prioritisation; • Identify gaps in the end to end service requirements and propose options to remediate requirement sets; • Ensure analysis undertaken of detailed service requirements adheres to objectives and conforms to set standards and guidelines; • Support the development and documentation of evaluation criteria; Skills/ Experience Required ESSENTIAL • Good knowledge of ITIL v3 • Experience of working in a structured project / programme environment and within IT service environment • Experience with various solution design methodologies and approaches • Comfortable working to tight deadlines You will ideally have public sector experience SFIA aligned required skill sets Service Management / Service Strategy Skill – IT management / level 5 Solution Development and Implementation / Systems development Skill – Requirements definition and management / level 5 Strategy & Architecture / Information Strategy Skill – Information Analysis / level 5 Business Change / Relationship management Skill – Stakeholder relationship management / level 5 Strategy & Architecture / Advice & Guidance Skill – Consultancy / level 5 Strategy & Architecture / Advice & Guidance Skill – Technical Specialism / level 5 Formal Qualifications Required DESIRABLE ITIL v3 Foundation PRINCE 2 Foundation
