Description of the contract

Our Central Government Client is currently looking for a Project Delivery Manager to be based in Leeds on a full time basis. This is an immediate requirement and will be for an initial 6 month contract. This role is responsible for the management and delivery of phase 2 of a business change and IT application development programme with internal and external stakeholders. Main duties and responsibilities: •The set up and agreement with suppliers of appropriate reporting, governance and document production •Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included. •Ongoing management of those plans to achieve the delivery goals •Work with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of the relevant Phase 2 deliverables •Identify and mitigate potential risks for delivery of key Phase 2 products •Operate as a full member of the Phase 2 team, supporting the Programme Director and other team members as directed Skills and experience: •Knowledge of Waterfall methodology •Experience in outsourcing / offshoring application development is essential •Experience in the delivery of projects, with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders in both business change and IT projects •Experience of governance and risk control frameworks •Ability to communicate abstract concepts effectively and to engage with the business at a business and technical level is paramount. •Must be able to optimise delivery from service providers who operate within a variety of different contracts. •The successful candidate must be able to bring best practice knowledge to complex, time bound, multi component programmes •Possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making. •Must have experience of working for a large, complex organisation Additional comments Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Basic Security Check, which is at a cost of £25.
