The proposals for 1 Canon Row are to appoint a Main Contractor to carry out a full refurbishment of the building which incorporates upgrading and adapting various specific accommodation areas.
The Grade II* building will be brought up to a standard suitable for use as office accommodation and also fulfils Parliaments public duty of care to maintain the architectural and historical significance of the building.
The proposed works include the replacement of mechanical and electrical services and the insertion or alteration of internal walls and doorways, external and internal repairs and full redecoration. A key part of the proposals is the insertion of a lift and stair core, in order to provide improved access to all floors. Fire safety, security, access and health and safety improvements are also proposed.
