II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

Refurbishment of a Grade II listed building. The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):
— Renew existing building services (including Public Health) generally to meet current regulatory requirements,
— Replace the passenger lift (and provide secondary power to enable its use as a DDA-compliant evac lift),
— Achieve a high level of sustainability (BREEAM rating of “Very Good”),
— Achieve a disabled-friendly accessible building where possible within the constraints of the building’s structure,
— Introduce mechanical ventilation throughout,
— Redecorate and repair internally as required,
— Repair and clean stonework externally (front and side elevations) in line with the agreed Conservation Statement, and restore fenestration to be closer to the original historic pattern,
— Attend to faults in the roof, gutters, and downpipes to prevent further water ingress,
— Repair existing lantern light over nos. 49-50 Parliament Street and reinstate lantern light over main staircase in no. 53 (previously in-filled to provide oversized lift motor room),
— Remodel / refit toilets and kitchen areas,
— Improve physical security measures,
— Improve smoke venting provision,
— Integrate the building into the Parliamentary Estate by connecting into the Parliamentary data, fire, and security electronic infrastructure.
