This contract will encompass the provision and operation of waste haulage and transfer station arrangements for domestic waste from the Canterbury City Council area.
The contract which may be awarded will be for a period of 2 years from 01 November 2013. A 12 month extension may be granted provided all parties can mutually agree terms.
This contract is expected to handle up to 30,000 tonnes of domestic waste per annum which would be delivered to the transfer station site via refuse collection vehicles or other municipal vehicles incl. street sweepers.
Waste to be handled under this contract shall in general be:
1. Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), including residual household waste, street sweepings, bulky household waste and fly tipping
and;
2. Separately collected household food waste derived from MSW.
This reception, bulking and transport contract will provide the capacity to manage waste deposited in the transfer station site and the related haulage thereof to locations specified by Kent County Council for final disposal or processing by others.

The Contract will receive, handle and transport up to 30,000 tonnes of waste from the Canterbury area each year of the contract. Accordingly up to 60,000 tonnes total tonnage over the initial contract term of 2 years.
