Removal, construction and refurbishment of tennis courts in Cambridge

Removal, construction and refurbishment of tennis courts in Cambridge

Cambridge City Council wishes to place a contract for the removal of existing tennis court facilities on Jesus Green, Cambridge and the installation of new tennis court facilities.

The contract will include the installation of four new hard tennis courts with associated fencing, and fencing around an area earmarked for the future establishment of two grass tennis courts.

The planned work start date is as soon as possible after contract award with a requirement to have the work completed by the end of April 2012.

The contract will also include an option for the refurbishment of a further single hard tennis court (including associated fencing) and the installation of a new single tennis court at Coleridge recreation ground in Cambridge. That part of the tender is an option only and work on this will not be authorised at the point of contract award. If it does proceed this part of the contract would be required in Autumn 2012.

Because of the high profile nature of the project we are only seeking service providers with a proven track record of constructing hard tennis courts.

The procurement process is a one-stage open tender. The closing date for the tender is 3pm on Friday 27 January 2012. Any tenders received after this time and date will not be considered.

Tender documentation including bills of quantity, plans and contract documents are available on the Cambridge City Council website at
