There are peaks and troughs of moves and set-up activity throughout the year.
IT Equipment Relocation:- The requirement will cover the unplugging, disassembling, moving and possible storage of computers and associated IT equipment relative to staff movement within the Parliamentary Estate, and reassembling and reconnecting up to and including powering on and testing that the Network Interface Card (NIC) is responding and informing Parliamentary ICT of any exceptions with the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and network points. This will include a number of outbuildings near to the Palace of Westminster.
A work station set will include all items associated with a workstation and normally include the CPU (PC or laptop and docking station), monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer and associated cables. From time to time larger separate items may need to be moved. The work will extend to the network and may include servers.
Storage: In addition to the above we require storage facilities for stock furniture, stock carpet, historic furniture and the Palace architectural salvage. Historic furniture currently occupies around 3,100 m3 of environmentally-controlled space. Approximately 10,000m3 of stock items are currently held in metal sea freight containers or standard wood containers.
