Description of the goods or services required

This notice relates to the purchase of a Peer Support and Employability service model for people who currently access: the NHS NetWork Employability Service and mental health or addictions services in Renfrewshire area and have the aspiration to explore a range of meaningful day activity and employability opportunities. The Peer Support and Employability Service will link with the NHS NetWork Employability Service within Renfrewshire which sits within mental health and addiction secondary care services.

Employability and service user involvement has been a core activity of The Mental Health Services (MHS) for several years and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde currently funds a range of employability services. The main aim of the funded services is to promote recovery and increase access to employability opportunities including paid employment for people with mental health and addiction issues through collaborative working with a range of voluntary and statutory organisations.

Peer Support is about people who share similar experiences supporting each other and when people who experience mental health or addictions problems talk about what has been helpful in their recovery; peer support is a major factor.

The initial term of the contract is one (1) year expected to commence 1/10/13 to 30/09/14 with the option to extend, subject to budget availability and on mutually agreed terms and conditions, for a maximum of thirty six (36) months. The contract can be extended as many times as required with individual extension options of any period. Collectively these options must not exceed thirty six (36) months.

The budget for this service is £30,000 per annum which includes staffing, all associated management and administration costs, hire of all equipment and furnishings required for the delivery of the programme and any rental of premises therein.
