Description of the contract
Tenders for the renovation of 4No full sized porous macadam tennis courts and associated fencing works at Barking Park, Longbridge Road, Barking The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s Assets & Commercial Services Division is now inviting expressions of interest to take part in a tender for the renovation of four full sized tennis courts with weld mesh fencing surround within Barking Park which have been designed in accordance with the Lawn Tennis Association’s technical services department. These works have estimated values of approximately £125,000.00 to include the provision of four new macadam tennis courts & associated works, within Barking Park. The scope of works includes for the renovation of four outdoor full size porous macadam tennis courts to be laid directly over the surface of the existing courts and associated fencing works. The new porous macadam tennis courts will be used for competitive tennis, general training / mini tennis activities and will need to be constructed in accordance with the Lawn Tennis Associations requirements and specifications. For the extent of the works refer to the attached drawing. The intention of the employer is not to restrict the type of footwear used, but the manufacturers recommendations in this respect will be followed so far as is practicable. The completed facility is expected to be durable and be of low maintenance as it is expected to be used for up to 12 hours/day. The contract will be executed strictly in accordance with the construction (Design and Management) regulations and the contractor shall obtain building regulations approval as required from LBBD. The issue of O&M manuals will be required prior to practical completion being granted. All site operatives to be CRB credited. Tenders are anticipated to be issued at the end April 2012 for return in mid May 2012. It is anticipated that the works shall commence at the end of May 2012, for completion in June 2012.
