RRS James Cook Refit 2012.
Scheduled repairs to carry out routine, mandatory maintenance and class survey work.
RRS James Cook has a requirement for scheduled repairs, routine mandatory maintenance and class survey to ensure the vessel’s continued safe and efficient operation.
Negotiations to secure the services of an appropriate marine maintenance facility are required to commence at the earliest opportunity so as to not compromise the vessel’s cruise programme and associated scientific commitments.
Work scope.
The work will involve alongside maintenance in a wet berth to undertake annual recertification, maintenance, service and repair tasks.
Statement of requirement.
A full statement of requirement will be produced in due course.
RRS James Cook will be available for inspection at the following times:
Vessel returns to United Kingdom from South America in April 2012 and is scheduled to call at Avonmouth 20th-24.4.2012 prior to positioning at the selected refit yard.
Work period.
Work is scheduled to commence on or around 18.6.2012.
There is no anticipation of any dry dock requirement at the present time.
Work to be completed in shortest possible running days to enable post refit sea trials to be completed prior to next science cruise.
