Description of the contract

This contract notice is in relation to the replacement of Building R1 ITAC Minifab area Air Handling Units at STFC site, Daresbury. The existing Air Handling Units (AHU) serving the three “Minifab” clean room areas require replacement due to age and unreliability. The minimum specification will be based on the existing units and will be specified alongside the tender documents. The replacement system must meet this specification and consideration will be given to systems that exceed it where indicated. The existing system comprises 3 independent AHUs. Tenders are invited to supply, install and commission replace all three systems, including removal of the existing AHU and connection to the existing ductwork. The works must be completed by 15th March 2015. All works to be completed in accordance with current CDM and Health and safety legislation. Bidders to apply via Emptoris tendering system and will be required via Emptoris to provide Method Statements and risk assessments. Successful bidders are to be responsible for the supervision and safe working of its employees and the work area. The cost and frequency of ongoing routine servicing over the next 5 years will be evaluated and therefore this should be quoted as a separate item. UK Shared Business Services eSourcing As part of the strategic alliance between UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) and Crown Commercial Service (CCS), UK SBS can use the CCS eSourcing Suite for future procurements. If you have not yet registered on the eSourcing Suite, this can be done online at by following the link ‘Register for CCS eSourcing’. Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a contract if invited to do so. Once you have registered on the eSourcing Suite, a registered user can express an interest for a specific procurement. This is done by emailing Your email must clearly state: the name and reference for the procurement you wish to register for; the name of the registered Bidder; and the name and contact details for the registered individual sending the email. Crown Commercial Service will process the email and then enable the Bidder to access the procurement online via the e-Sourcing Suite. The registered user will receive a notification email to alert them once this has been done.
