Nexus intends to replace its operational radio system used for signal box to train communications and the scope of work to be carried out is the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and migration of a TETRA Radio System to replace a MPT1327 system that is currently in operation across the Metro network. The new system will:
— Provide a resilient, reliable, flexible system that is secure, stable and based upon commercial off the shelf technology as much as possible.
— Be a proven system solution which can be supported for 15 years.
— Provide reduced maintenance cost and improved diagnostics.
— Have provision for expansion and in-house reconfiguration.
— Provide information to various interfaces.
— Enable the installation, commissioning and migration from the old to the new system with minimum disruption to the operational railway.
