Description of the goods or services required

Scottish Government’s Digital Directorate would like to commission detailed analysis to support the development of the World Class 2020 Digital Infrastructure Programme as set out in Scotland’s Digital Future Infrastructure Action Plan.

The project has two distinct phases. It aims to:

– comprehensively map mobile and fixed infrastructure throughout Scotland by September 2013. This will include gathering data on commercial networks, passive infrastructure that could support the deployment of next generation access (NGA) networks and available sources of backhaul.

– test this data by undertaking interviews / workshops with local stakeholders in Glasgow, with the aim of identifying and scoping potential early digital infrastructure projects in the city that are consistent with Scotland’s World Class 2020 strategy and aligned to local regeneration and economic development strategies.
