Description of the goods or services required

The ‘Ein Treftadaeth / Our Heritage’ Project (Gwynedd and Conwy Strategic Heritage Tourism Project) has been developed in response to the need to maximise the economic value and community benefits of Gwynedd and Conwy’s local heritage assets and history. The project will provide an integrated approach across Gwynedd, Conwy and Snowdonia National Park to reveal and enhance the cross cutting stories across the themes of Origins, Pre History and Roman Invasion, Inspirational Landscapes, Edwardian Castles, Industrial Nation and Events to further encourage exploration of the cultural landscape.

The project is part of Cadw’s Heritage Tourism Project and has been part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government

The purpose of the commission is to appoint a suitably appointed consultant to develop 25 itineraries as downloadable PDF files to be placed on the new ‘Ein Treftadaeth / Our Heritage’ website.

The itineraries will guide visitors around sites or clusters of sites within geographical areas within Gwynedd, Conwy and Snowdonia National Park relating to the themes of Origins and Prehistory, the Romans, Castles of Edward I, Spiritual Landscapes that includes the Pilgrims Trail and Industrial Nation. These will be a mixture of driving and walking itineraries and will offer the visitor a varied experience within a localised geographical area.
