Description of the contract
Some voluntary and community organisations have access to a rich source of qualitative intelligence from the public about the quality and safety of individual, named services which is extremely valuable to CQC’s assessment of and responsiveness to risk. CQC wishes to carry out a project with a voluntary organisation aimed at systematically collecting intelligence about whether care providers are meeting required standards of quality and safety from people who contact the organisation. We specifically want to work with an organisation that can help us increase our access to individual experiences of care in residential care settings. Objectives The aims of the project are: . To actively seek intelligence from a voluntary organisation about whether care services are meeting required standards of quality and safety, with a focus on gathering the individual experiences of people living in residential care within the last three to six months. • To assess the value of the intelligence to CQC in assessing risk and prompting regulatory activity • To increase awareness of CQC and its role as regulator of health and social care services in England, and the standards of quality and safety people have a right to expect amongst people in residential care and their loved ones. Voluntary organisations have access to a rich source of qualitative information from the public about the quality and safety of services which could be extremely valuable to CQC’s assessment of and responsiveness to risk. Through a project of this kind we can ensure a managed flow of information which can be tracked and evaluated effectively. Target audience Organisations with access to rich qualititative intelligence from users of residential care services and with experience of working with them and their loved ones / carers. Key activities • Continuous supply of qualitative intelligence from voluntary organisation to CQC over a 12 month period starting asap. • The feedback will be captured on CQC webforms sent directly to our national contact centre and distributed to our Intelligence and Inspection teams who will then act on and evaluate the information. • Pro-active PR to promote the project, the standards of quality and safety people have a right to expect and the role of CQC as regulator.
