Description of the contract
The Centre for Public Health Excellence (CPHE) at NICE has been asked by the Department of Health (DH) to develop two pieces of public health guidance on: •Managing overweight and obesity in adults: lifestyle weight management services; and: •Managing overweight and obesity among children and young people: lifestyle weight management services These guidance documents will address lifestyle weight management approaches. They may include weight management programmes, courses or clubs that: •accept overweight or obese participants through self-referral or referral from a health practitioner •are provided by the public, private or voluntary sector •are based in the community, workplaces, in or via primary care or online. •are specifically designed for overweight or obese adults, children and young people, and/or the parents, carers or families of overweight or obese children and young people The contractor(s) will produce either: (i) a joint model-based economic analysis of lifestyle weight management services for adults and children & young people which includes a cost consequences and a return-on-investment analysis, or: (ii) separate model-based economic analyses, including cost consequences and return-on-investment analyses for (a) adults and (b) children and young people. The contractor(s) should be able to start work from 31st May 2012.
