English Heritage (EH) and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) wish to commission a consultancy to undertake a qualitative research project looking at how heritage organisations are/have adapted to the changing economic, social and political climate and the issues they continue to face. We wish to understand in more detail how organisations have changed to become more resilient, the factors which contributed to this and any further support that they may need. We would also expect the appointed consultant to draw on experiences from other sectors to put these findings into a wider context and make recommendations for future actions which both heritage organisations themselves and supporting agencies (such as EH and HLF) can undertake. It is envisaged that the research will be based around a selection of case study projects. These will be chosen by English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
