1. Lodge Lane, Bridgnorth which has 4 residents.
2. Blackfriars which has 3 residents.
Applicants may tender for 1 or both of the services. The contract(s) for the services will be let for a period of 5 years, from the expiry of current contract in June 2016, with an option to extend for a further 2 years.
Each home is already established and registered with the Care Quality Commission for Adults with Learning Disabilities. Each service user has their own complex needs which may range from challenging behaviour, sensory impairment, autism, and Learning and Physical disabilities. The successful providers will be required to be registered with the Care Quality Commission.
The Council is committed to providing a high quality service which facilitates access to enable Service Users to remain in the community and wants to transition these residential services over to Supported Living Services within 2 years of the date of the award of the contract.
The Council is looking to appoint an innovative provider who:
— is registered with CQC as a domiciliary care provider or will seek to become registered during the first 2 years of the contract.
— can easily meet the varied needs of current residents.
— can develop the current service in line with the Council’s priorities.
— that has a track record in providing high quality services of a similar nature.
— has proven abilities to think imaginatively about service development and improvement.
— can demonstrate an awareness of the local and national agendas for both health and social care.
— can identify improved efficiencies whilst still maintaining a quality service.
— can maximise the social and economic impact of these services.
— can actively transition these services from residential to support living schemes.
We consider The Employee ‘Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (‘TUPE’) may apply to this contract(s) with the current staff teams at both homes to be transferred.
The homes are owned by Shropshire Council and the successful tenderer will be required to enter into a lease agreement.
The deadline for the return of completed Tenders is noon 1.4.2016.
