II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

a) Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) wishes to enter into an arrangement with a number of providers who have experience of working with young disabled people, under the age of 18, to deliver a range of respite services for these young people and their families.
The purpose of the service will be to provide short breaks for disabled children to enable these children to remain living with their families, and where appropriate, attend local schools. The service will provide support for these families and provide a high standard of care for the child.
Children may present with physical, mental or sensory disabilities.
b) The service will include a range of provision to support the young person and their family. This contract includes:
i) domiciliary care within the child’s home.
ii) outreach activities, for individuals, in the local area.
iii) overnight provision at a specialist facility.
c) Organisations can apply to provide services in one or several of the above categories.
d) Children may require 1:1 or 2:1 support.
e) Stockport MBC is committed to ensuring, where appropriate, the achievement of local economic benefits through its procurement activities and how the supplier could support this objective.

(a) is bankrupt or is being wound up, where his affairs are being administered by the court, where he has entered into an arrangement with creditors, where he has suspended business activities or is in any analogous situation arising from a similar procedure under national laws and regulations;
(b) is the subject of proceedings for a declaration of bankruptcy, for an order compulsory winding up the administration by the court or of an arrangement with creditors or of any other similar proceedings under national laws and regulations;
(c) has been convicted by a judgment which has the force of res judicata in accordance with the legal provisions of the country of any offence concerning his professional conduct;
