II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Responsive Repairs, Maintenance for Council Buildings 12-041.
Rotherham MBC is inviting bids from qualified provider(s) to cover the day to day works for the Authority’s buildings (domestic households not covered).
The works will include any of the following types of services;
— General Building Repairs including consumables,
— Electrical related work, Maintenance, Servicing including,PAT Testing and related consumables,
— Glazing related work and consumables,
— Gas related work including Inspections, Disconnections, Maintenance, Servicing and consumables,
— Joinery related work and consumables,
— Plumbing & Heating related work, Maintenance, Servicing and consumables.
The annual expenditure is in the region of 1 500 000 GBP (but this can not be guaranteed in any one year during the term of this contract) a breakdown of the spend will be supplied to the shortlisted suppliers within the tender document.
The contract will be awarded initially for a period of 3 years, with the option to extend at the sole discretion of RMBC for a further 1 year (4 years in total) but this will be reviewed on a year by year basis subject to satisfactory performance.
Although RMBC would like to award this contract ideally to one service provider, they reserve the rights to award the contract to more than one provider or into specialist lots. These lots will be identified in the tender document(s).
Tenderers should be aware that although the contracting authority for the purposes of this procurement is Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, one or more of the other 22 Local Authorities within the Yorkshire/Humber Region and all other Local Authorities in the United Kingdom (collectively described in this ITT where the context requires as “the Contracting Authorities”) may choose to access the concluded contract subject to the capacity of the tenderer, without creating any obligation on behalf of any of them to do so.
Where any of the 22 Local Authorities within the Yorkshire/ Humber Region or other local authorities in the United Kingdom elects to do so a legally binding contract shall be created between the Contractor and that Local Authority on the terms and conditions contained herein”.

You should upload the completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and supporting documents onto the SCMS system no later than 12:00 hrs on Monday 16.7.2012.
All Pre-Qualification Questionnaires must be returned through the SCMS system and will not be accepted by any other means.
