Description of the contract
Public Health England (PHE) plan to develop a Health and Wellbeing Framework to be published in the summer of 2014. This Framework will include a predictive model for the public’s health describing possible future scenarios. PHE will be tendering for a supplier to develop a model to project trends for future disease burdens up to 20 years from the current date. PHE will agree a range of scenarios with the supplier projecting different levels of key risk factors. The supplier should be able to model the impact of changing levels of some risk factors as a minimum (e.g. smoking and obesity). Ideally the supplier will be able to model the effects of changing several risk factors simultaneously, and their interactions with one another. This model must enable the supplier to produce a report for each of the scenarios agreed covering: • Overall life expectancy • Healthy life expectancy • Disability Adjusted Life Years/ Quality Adjusted Life Years • Levels of the main diseases driving morbidity and mortality
