A new catering facility in Kensington Gardens between Queen Anne’s Alcove and Marlborough Gate, overlooking the Italian Gardens, is currently under shell and core construction. The scope covers two buildings: a) Café with serving counter, seating for up to 28 people inside and 32 on the external terrace and a back-of-house kitchenette with staff WC. b) Stores comprising a walk-in coldroom and freezer room, dry goods store and staff changing room. The Royal Parks are currently seeking Expression of Interest/tender returns from commercial fit-out contractors able to provide the following on completion of the shell and core works currently underway: 1. Supply and installation of kitchen equipment, walk-in coldstores and bespoke stainless steel countering; 2. Flooring and wall finishes to servery and seating areas; 3. General decorations; 4. Minor plumbing works including catering equipment final connections; 5. Minor electrical works including installation of catering equipment final connections; 6. Joinery works to serving counter and seating area; 7. Above ground drainage works including catering equipment final connections; 8. Other fit-out works as required. The completed shell and core works include (1) first and second fix mechanical, ventilation and electrical works, (2) floor, ceiling and wall finishes to the stores and kitchenette, (3) general lighting to all areas, (4) below ground soil drainage, (5) security, (6) sanitary fittings (7) external works. The finish needs to represent that of a high quality high street retail outlet and be of durable construction to meet peak season demand. The fit-out contractor shall need to be willing to appoint a Client approved commercial catering equipment supplier/specialist stainless steel counter manufacturer as a domestic sub-contractor to carry out the catering specific elements of the project.
