Description of the contract

Dear Colleague You may have read in the Housing press that following recent changes to the Housing Revenue Account to enable Local Authorities to become ‘self financing’, some Local Authorities are able to start building council housing again. Arun District Council is one such authority and would like to commence building a small programme of new social housing for the first time in over 20 years and to help us achieve this objective we are seeking a partner RSl who will be able to provide us with development services. Together we hope to realise a new programme of approximately 30 new council houses across a number of sites on our existing estates. As a partner RSL or an organisation with stock in the district we would like to invite you to apply to become a supplier of Development Agent Services to the Council. I have attached for information, a copy of an Invitation to Tender Document setting out details of our requirements and the questionnaire/bid form, assessment method, details of a number of potential sites we are considering, and a draft contract for the supply of consultancy services. We would be grateful if you would keep the site locations confidential at this stage. The selection of a partner Development Agent will be based on the Tender Submission which demonstrates the best value to the Council taking into account the price , the skills and the experience of the tenderee. All bids will need to be made through the Council’s eSourcing Portal ‘LocalGovernmentSourcing.co.uk’ which can be accessed as per the instructions below. The closing date is 12 midday on Monday 3rd June 2013. Responses received will be assessed by a panel and if there are a number of close bidders a follow up interview will be arranged.
