Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake minor landscaping works such as:
— cut glades and rides in woodlands once a year,
— keep countryside paths open by flail cutting, lifting and strimming undergrowth,
— supply and erect fencing and gates,
— cut and lift grass from meadows and roadside wild flower verges,
— supply, collect and plant ornamental shrubs, herbaceous plants and bulbs,
— supply and spread soil conditioner,
— access work in nature reserves to include surfacing footpaths and the construction and installation of pedestrian bridges,
— work within allotments repairing gates and fences, clearing undergrowth, cutting hedges, strimming grass paths and removing rubbish,
— laying new water supplies, fitting tanks and supplying water to fill storage tanks on allotment sites.
The estimated value of the contract is between 80 000 GBP and 100 000 GBP per annum and the Council is seeking an organisation that has the capacity and flexibility to undertake a number of minor landscaping works concurrently. The work will be issued in a monthly order and all tasks must be completed within that month, prior to invoice being submitted for payment. The Council intends to appoint 1 main contractor and one reserve / back up contractor.
