Leicester City Council’s Economic Development Team have a requirement for Sales and Negotiation Training:
The Dock Accelerator is part of the ERDF funded project, Launch-Pad Leicester, and is based at Dock on Pioneer Park. The Business Development Team are seeking to contract with several suppliers to deliver bespoke workshops to new/recently started technology, low carbon / environmental businesses in Leicester.
As part of the programme, we are looking to commission a training provider to devise and present 3 informal and interactive sessions around the topics of Sales and Negotiation. The sessions should be innovative and interactive with practical tasks and examples. Key points should be supported by the use of real-life examples wherever possible, so that those attending will each leave with something of value for their business. Participants should be able to use any hand-outs and templates during and after the session within their business.
The overall programme of support has been split into packages around specific themes and topics. This SALES package includes three 3-hour sessions as follows:
• Growing Sales – Finding new Leads
How to grow sales from existing markets and how to pitch for new work with new customers. Where to find new customers and how to build on the relationships you already have. How to build a healthy pipeline.
• Negotiating & Face to Face Selling
Highlighting the differences between selling and negotiating, this workshop will demonstrate how to successfully negotiate without reducing profit. Rules for successful negotiations, including how to prepare for a negotiation meeting, will be highlighted to all attendees. What techniques to use when selling face to face.
• Preparing Proposals & Tenders
This workshop will show those attending how to construct a professional sales proposal in order to pitch for and win new business and how to effectively prepare a written response to an invitation to tender.
The trainer will be responsible for:
• Booking the training room
• Presentation equipment
• Ordering refreshments for participants if appropriate
The venue must be based in Leicester City, to comply with our funder’s guidelines.
Potential participants will likely be centred at Dock on Pioneer Park and therefore the location of the sessions should be carefully considered to ensure maximum attendance at the workshop. The time of the proposed workshops should also reflect our target group with a morning start for each.
Launch-Pad Leicester is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and therefore all documents relating to this activity will have to adhere to our funder’s guidelines, including the use of ERDF logos on any presentation slides and hand-outs. The Business Development team will be responsible for:
• Checking the eligibility of clients before enrolling them onto the workshop
• Marketing the sessions
• All booking administration
• Registration at the sessions
• Monitoring and evaluation with the participants during and following each workshop
