Description

Leicester City Council would like to bring about, by December 2013, a new Rostering and Scheduling System for the Adult and Social Care’s Reablement Service which consists of 128 mobile care workers (114 FTE) handling the care requirements resulting from hospital discharges and community referrals.

The requirement for a new Rostering and Scheduling system, which is used for booking and scheduling care for service users, has become an apparent with the introduction of a new Social Care System “Liquidlogic PROTOCOL” (http://www.liquidlogic.co.uk/) which will mean the existing version which is currently used by the service will be decommissioned towards the end of 2013. Liquidlogic does not include a rostering and scheduling system.

Additionally, by implementing a change to a more automated process, it will enable LCC to re-evaluate and replace the current manual processes that are in place and by avoiding unnecessary duplications will provide opportunities for achieving greater efficiency in the division.

The Council wants to ensure that they will be using the latest technology and would like advice on what is possible. Initially, for an interim period, the system would have to be a standalone system. Furthermore, LCC would like to enable as a long term solution and absolute final requirement, the system to interface into to the new Social Care system that is being introduced and deployed within LCC so that we can achieve the integration of the two systems.

At present LCC are not fully aware of what strategic options exist in the market to achieve this aim of full integration of two separate systems, thus, even though the business requirements and specifications are known, they have not been fully defined and documented.

Should you feel your company can contribute to this Test then please complete the questionnaire at the end of this opportunity (link to the document is below) and return to rebecca.cowan@leicester.gov.uk and should be returned by 12.00 noon, 3 April 2013 at the very latest.
