Cleaning services at Drapers’ Academy are being re-tendered in line with industry guidelines to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and visitors. The contract will be evaluated for both quality and best value. Bids should be made according to the specification shown in the tender documents.
Drapers’ Academy is a sponsored Academy school for pupils aged 11 – 18 years. It took over from Kings Wood School, a predecessor school in September 2010 as part of the Governments Academies Programme. Drapers’ Academy is superbly equipped, with the pending completion of a 24 000 000 GBP new building and state of the art facilities, including Faraday model science facilities and a 3D Theatre.
Drapers’ Academy currently has in the region of 500 pupils at ages 11 – 16, with a brand new Sixth Form opening in September 2012, with capacity in its new buildings for 1 100 pupils. It employs approximately 100 staff directly.
The School comprises of a multi floor new building, including classrooms, laboratories, technology rooms, IT suites, offices, gymnasium, 1 x sports hall, 1 x assembly hall and 1 x canteen. The Nett area of the school is 10,692 m2 although the area for cleaning purposes will be less.

Billing for the service to be invoiced monthly, payment 30 days in arrears.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 300 000 GBP
Description of these options: Option to extend for 2 years, 1 year at a time.
Section III: Legal, economic, financial and technical information
Description of particular conditions: Cleaning contract will be subject to and judged on the following:
a. performance standards;
b. school or independently audited;
c. shortfall of standards will be subject to contractor rectification or credit;
d. a monthly contract meeting;
e. audit of hours.
