II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
This involves collecting packed containers from one designated kitchen at the contracted collection time, and delivering into the designated delivery point in the receiving establishment at the specified time.
A number of routes are contained within the Specification and tenderers may bid for any/all routes as they require.
The Contract Period is 26.10.2015 to 25.10.2020 with an option to extend for up to a further 12 month period.
The estimated value of the requirement over the Contract Period (including the extension option) is in the region of 605 343 GBP excluding VAT, but allowing for a 3 % annual inflationary increase.
This figure is used for purposes of estimating the value of the Contract and not as a contractual condition that a 3 % annual inflationary increase would be applied; the Contract document contains information on how price adjustments shall be accommodated during the Contract Period).
The Council reserves the right to action an e-auction for any/all Routes being tendered as required.

Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required: Tenderers are required to demonstrate that their financial position provides adequate assurance of their financial strength in order to provide the services required during the Contract Period.
In the event that analysis of a tenderer’s position determines that additional measures are necessary in order to provide adequate assurance of their financial strength, the tenderer may be required to provide either a parent company guarantee or a bank guarantee. Failure to provide this if requested, may result in the tenderer’s submission failing to meet the minimum standards and being given no further consideration.
The Council may take up references from any agency such as Equifax.
