Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Coventry City Council intends to secure the services of experienced and suitably qualified organisations to provide School Nursing Services across Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Coventry City Council, in 2 separate lots.
The contract is due to expire and the Cabinet have authorised for the Director of Public Health to conduct an OJEU Open Procedure tender exercise for the new contract for the School Nursing Service to run for a period of 2 years with the option of 2 further 1-year extensions for each service.
The aim of the service is to proactively support children when they commence full-time education until 19 years old, and their families, in order for them to enjoy optimum health and well-being. This would include prevention and early intervention to ensure long-term health and well-being.
As part of the current health service reforms the responsibility for improving School Health Nursing Service transferred from the NHS to local government from 1.4.2013.
