Hire of passenger transport vehicles with driver. Non-scheduled passenger transport. Water transport services. Hire of buses and coaches with driver. Minibuses. The purpose of this contract is to provide the hire of vehicles which the Council will use to operate a Transport Service for School Swimming Lessons, School Trips and ad-hoc Coach/Minibus Hire, catering for the transport needs of Schools and service users across the borough of Oldham.
This service is primarily utilised by pupils in Primary Schools who attend swimming lessons and school trips, and by various Council departments for ad-hoc Coach/Minibus Hire.
Pupils are transported over 190 school days per year.
The annual contract value is estimated to be approximately £340k per annum, however this figure is only a guide and no volumes or values are guaranteed.
The Council would ideally like to award the contract to one supplier, but it is recognised that the contract may well result in an award to more than one supplier.

(a) There are currently 63 routes to be tendered over a Rotating 3-Term Rota.
(b) All routes, unless specified otherwise, are to cater for up to a maximum number of 40 children.
(c) Where a maximum number of seats has been specified, this can either be catered for by the appropriate coach size, or by a double decker bus.
